There was a time when I had not a clue, about life or love,
Until I saw you walking there in the night, looking at the stars above,
My heart turned over, at this new feeling inside me that night,
And for many days, could not rid my mind of this sweet sight.

You came over to me, and touched my hand, and love began,
Always and forever to lean on you, throughout this land,
You were my joy, my friend, my happiness for life come true,
When love began, was the enchanting day I found myself meeting you.

Be my hero forever my love, in my eyes you could never do wrong,
Your thoughtfulness is likened unto a melodious, wondrous song,
Maybe it has been sung many times before, but for me it was so new,
No one else could ever be in my heart, my love, only you.

Rainbows started to be brighter, the stars in Heaven glistened more,
As deep down inside my heart, I found how you, I did so adore,
I will love you always, I will share my sorrows and joys with you,
As we walk throughout this life, in all the things we say or do.

When we’re old and gray, we’ll still belong to each other in every way,
As we walk the path of gladness through each and every day,
Maybe we can go on loving forever, remembering the days back then,
When we met there in the glistening starlight, back when love began.
