A Friend like This

Thank you Lord for a friend like this,
She is full of grace and wondrous bliss.
I know you will keep an eye on her, all her life,
So now, I know she will not have undue strife.

She is a kind, and humorous woman, this friend.
We write each other again, and again.
The world is full of friends, but not like this.
If I did not know better, I would claim her as a sis.

We wonder through our e-mail together,
However, will we see each other? Well, possibly never.
We are far away with only mail to know each other.
We write the other most every day; just like a sis or brother.

One day in Heaven, there we shall in, glory see
The things and friends on earth will not always be.
I reached for a friend and there I found a star.
Keep me close to my friends, though they are afar.
